In 2009, after working in the custom sewing and alteration business for 13 years, I began having requests for specially modified or custom constructed swimwear and accessories for women who have had breast surgery. Upon researching this a little further I noticed a need, not only for better selection with regards to swimwear, but a need for women to have a private and pleasant atmosphere to be serviced for breast prostheses and other post mastectomy products.

In 2010 I decided to close the custom sewing business and move on to helping women who have had breast surgery find the choices they deserve. I felt the need to do something more with my life, something that would really make a difference…

Designed For Living Mastectomy Boutique became a reality. Having had many years custom fitting and altering all types of clothing the experience and knowledge gained has been immense. It is my desire to offer the same professional, friendly and compassionate service that has given me the solid reputation that I have today. Trained as a certified fitter, and from past experience, I am ready to give you the one on one personal attention and work with you to find all of your post mastectomy products.

Due to the intimate nature of the business I am available for fittings and private consultations through pre-scheduled appointments to ensure strict confidentiality. As a friend and relative of breast cancer survivors I understand the physical and emotional needs that women may experience when making these choices. I have been trained in Nero- Linguistic Programming (NLP), which has provided great insight into the special needs associated with dealing with the emotions that come along with this issue. It has given me the ability to experience true compassion for others, especially when it comes to helping them. I want to help you make the right choices when it comes to your mastectomy wear so when wearing a bra and breast prostheses you’ll feel more like yourself again… comfortable, confident and reassured!
